Hawks pick up NJCAA Region 14 win over Panola

PORT ARTHUR -- Lamar State College Port Arthur picked up its first NJCAA Region 14 win of the season with an 89-73 decision over Panola College on Tuesday night at the Carl Parker Center.

The victory improves the Seahawks' record to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in league play heading into a non-conference game Saturday at Delgado College in New Orleans.

PARIS -- Over the final moments of Saturday's game against Paris College, the Lamar State College-Port Arthur put on a fast and furious comeback. It still wasn't enough, though, resulting in a long and tedious ride home to Port Arthur as the Dragons took the 73-67 NJCAA Region 14 win over the Seahawks.

PORT ARTHUR -- Just before the start of the 2015-2016 men's basketball season at Lamar State College-Port Arthur, the Port Arthur Police Department made a call en masse to the parking lot of the Carl Parker Center. It was there that the PAPD and the current Seahawks team gathered for the basketball team's annual schedule poster photo shoot, working together under the theme of #BackTheBlue.

Weisbrod, Harris sign national letters of intent

Heading to Lamar University, Louisiana-Monroe

Seahawks sophomores Colton Weisbrod and Jordon Harris each signed national letters of intent on Thursday, November 12, setting their futures on the basketball court for the next two years. Weisbrod, from Nederland, will play for Lamar University in Beaumont, while Harris, from San Antonio, will play for the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
