With a microphone in his hand, sophomore basketball player Christian Albright spoke from his heart as he addressed fans at the team’s final home game at the Carl Parker Center. “We are a family. All of us. We couldn’t have done any of this without you, without our fans,” he said during the Sophomore Celebration post-game ceremony.
The Seahawks are champions of the NJCAA Region 14 South Zone and LSCPA fans set a mark of their own as they came in droves throughout the season to support their boys in blue. LSCPA is ranked No. 5 in the country for its attendance with 5,750 total fans and 6th in the nation for average with 338 per game. The team is also No. 1 in Region 14 in both categories.

Lamar State College Port Arthur added a notch to its victory column after San Jacinto College was forced to forfeit Saturday's win against the Seahawks.
During the course of Saturday's game in Pasadena, a Ravens player received two technical fouls, predicating his ejection from the contest. According to the bylaws of the National Junior College Athletics Association, the player must leave the game and the venue after an ejection. The player in question remained on the bench for the remainder of the game.

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- In one game, it was pitching and in the other, it was offense but the outcome was the same. The Lamar State College Port Arthur Seahawks claimed a sweep in the second day of play at the Sun Chief Classic, beating Snead State Community College 2-1 and Jefferson Davis CC 11-9.
The Seahawks evened their season record at 8-8 with the two wins, leaving the tournament with three wins in five games, losing two on Friday.

LSCPA maintains a share of first place in South Zone with two games left
PASADENA -- A dead-eye shooting San Jacinto College team outlasted Lamar State College Port Arthur on Saturday afternoon at Anders Gymnasium as the Ravens took a critical 92-76 NJCAA Region 14 South Zone win over the Seahawks.
LSCPA, 20-9 overall and 11-6 in league play, is now tied with the Ravens in the standings with just two games left in the regular season. The Hawks face Blinn College at home Wednesday night at 7 and travels to Lufkin to play Angelina College on Saturday, February 27, to end their regular season run.

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- It was a day of "close but no cigar" for Lamar State College Port Arthur on Friday at the Sun Chief Classic as the Seahawks softball team lost two of their three games by a total of two runs.
The Hawks lost to host Faulkner State 6-5 in the first game of the day before exploding for a 13-5 win over Enterprise Community College in Game 2. The big bats continued into the second inning of Game 3 against Central Alabama CC with the Hawks going up 8-0 before eventually falling 10-9.
