'Gleaux for a Cure' Fun Run
Saturday, October 18, 2014 ~ Carl Parker Center, 1800 Lakeshore Drive, Port Arthur
The Lamar State College-Port Arthur Seahawks and Lamar University Cardinals softball teams are sponsoring a fun run, Gleaux for a Cure, starting at 7:30 p.m. and following a 2 p.m. softball doubleheader between the two teams. The run will benefit the fight against cancer as the team recognizes October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Because the run will take place after dusk, runners are encouraged to wear bright colors and bring glow sticks to carry along the route.
The run will start at the front of the Carl Parker Center and travels along Lakeshore Drive to Martin Field where it turns onto the Seawall. The route continues along the Seawall to the point where it nears Rose Hill Park. Runners will then turn around and return the way they came to the finish line at the front of the Parker Center.
Entry Fee: Adults are $20 and children under 12 years of age are $10. All runners will receive a t-shirt. Extra t-shirts are for sale at $20 each.
Payment: Please make checks payable to Lamar State College-Port Arthur, attn. Gleaux for a Cure, P.O. Box 310, Port Arthur, Texas 77640. Payment may also be made the day of the event.
