Seahawks Dominate at Home Behind Brooks’ Double-Double

PORT ARTHUR, Texas – Isaiah Brooks had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds as the Lamar State College Port Arthur Seahawks improved to 3-0 on the season with a convincing 113-60 win over the visiting Southwest Community Christian College Raiders at the Carl Parker Center on Saturday afternoon.

Brooks was one of seven Seahawks to finish in double figures in scoring. Hayden Underwood had 17 points and a game-high eight assists, Amauriay Calloway had 16 points, J'mar Franklin and Zion Young had 14 points apiece, Jaylon Johnson had 12 points, while Martins Adonry finished with 10 points.

"We're improving every day," Seahawks coach Lance Madison said. "We played to our strength today."

The Seahawks shot 55.7 percent from the field (44-of-79) for the game. Brooks was an impressive 10-of-11 from the floor. The Seahawks led 57-32 at halftime and were never threatened in the second half. The Seahawks also dominated on the boards, outrebounding the Raiders 54-32.

"We had a height advantage and made the most of it," Madison said.

UP NEXT: The Seahawks hit the road for the first time this season when they journey to Plano for two games in the East West Challenge. LSCPA faces Collin College at 2 p.m. Friday and Midland College at 10 a.m. Saturday.

"We are going to face two really good teams," Madison said. "It's a prestigious tournament. These are the types of teams we will see when we get into region play."

The Seahawks' next home game is 6 p.m. Nov. 19 against Concordia University.
