PORT ARTHUR, Texas – Lamar State College Port Arthur will cap off Saturday's Homecoming festivities when the LSCPA Seahawks host the Paris Junior College Dragons in a Region XIV basketball game at 2 p.m. in the Carl A. Parker Multipurpose Center.

The Seahawks (11-10 overall, 5-8 Region XIV) look to build upon their 11-2 record at home this season.

"We feel really confident playing at home," LSCPA coach Lance Madison said. "We've made this a tough place for opponents to come into. We're hoping for a great atmosphere on Saturday."

Sophomore guard Zion Young leads the Seahawks in scoring, averaging 16.2 points per game. Freshman guard Nisani Mendez averages 12.9 ppg. Sophomore center Martins Adonry pulls down a team-leading 9.7 rebounds per game and has blocked a team-leading 24 shots. Sophomore guard Christian Andrews has a team-best 76 assists and is averaging 9.7 points per game.

Paris (10-10, 5-7) is led by sophomore guard Amari Brown, who averages 16.1 points per game. The Dragons are 4-5 away from home this season. This is the first meeting of the season between the teams. LSCPA's game at Paris on Jan. 24 was postponed because of the weather. That game will be made up at Paris on March 6 in the regular-season finale for both squads.

Homecoming activities start at noon with a Homecoming reception at the Carl A. Parker Multipurpose Center. There will be free links and beverages along with live music by Crossroads. During the game, current students will have opportunities to win raffle prizes, including $25 Visa gift cards, an iPad, a PlayStation 5, or $20 Walk-On's coupons. Winners must be present.

At halftime, LSCPA will recognize students on the President's List and Dean's List and announce the Homecoming Court.
