PARIS, Texas – Zion Young scored 22 points to lead five Lamar State College Port Arthur Seahawks in double figures as LSCPA closed out the regular season with an 85-79 road victory over the Paris Junior College Dragons in a Region XIV men's basketball game Friday afternoon.

Martins Adonry had 19 points for the Seahawks, Hayden Underwood had 18 points off the bench, J'Mar Franklin scored 11 points, and Jaylon Johnson added 10 points. The Seahawks (13-17 overall, 7-15 Region XIV) now await the date, time and opponent for their first-round game in next week's Region XIV Tournament in Baytown, Texas.

The Seahawks split the series with the Dragons this season. Paris (14-16, 9-13) was an 88-80 winner over LSCPA on Feb. 7. Friday's win was a makeup of the scheduled Jan.24 game that was postponed because of treacherous travel conditions.

The Seahawks drained eight 3-pointers in the game, five after halftime, and were 14-of-16 (87.5 percent) from the free-throw line.

"It's a good way to go into the Region XIV tournament," LSCPA coach Lance Madison said, "I was very proud of the effort we had today."
