PORT ARTHUR, Texas – A nine-win improvement over the previous season and a win over the defending national champions highlighted the Lamar State College Port Arthur Seahawks' men's basketball 2025-26 season.

One year after going 4-27, the Seahawks posted a 13-18 mark in 2025-26. LSCPA went 11-6 in the friendly confines of the Carl A. Parker Multipurpose Center, including a 61-55 win over the defending national champion Trinity Valley Cardinals. LSC{A showed remarkable improvement in Region XIV play, posting a 7-15 mark, one season after going 1-21 in the region.

"I think we played to our potential this season," LSCPA coach Lance Madison said. "We lost some key players to injuries, but I was very happy with the way our players battled. This is one of the strongest regions in the nation, and we battled hard every night."

One of those players, Martins Adonry, has already committed to a Division I program for next season, signing a National Letter of Intent to attend Louisiana Monroe. Adonry, who averaged 9.7 points per game for the Seahawks, led Region XIV in rebounding at 9.6 boards per game and was second in the region with an average of 1.1 blocked shots per game. Adonry was one of the first recruits signed by new ULM coach Ryan Cross.

Martins is a quality person," Madison said of the native of Manchester, England. "He wants to continue and learn. He wants the whole college experience. I'm excited that he is continuing his career at a Division I program."
