The Seahawks put together back-to-back wins with an early victory over Connors State followed by a 10-9 decision over Temple College at the Galveston College Tournament.
The Hawks used a huge six-run second inning to get out in front of Temple but it would take two runs in the bottom of the seventh to ice the game for LSCPA.
Cameron Niedenthal picked up her sixth home run of the season with a shot to center field for a 1-0 LSCPA lead.
Kaitlynn Samarripa led off the bottom of the big second inning with a double, followed by a one-out double by Harlie Collier, putting runners at second and third. A walk to Bri Ramirez loaded the bases with LeeAnn Hinojosa slapping an RBI single to plate Samarripa and keep the bases loaded.
Maylin Louvier doubled to score Collier and Ramirez. Gabby Tims walked to load the bases yet again, setting up Niedenthal for a two-run double to make the score 6-0.
Savannah Trahan walked on the next at-bat, then Samarripa grounds out but pushes Tims across the plate for a 7-0 lead.
Another run crossed for the Seahawks when Louvier hit a two-out shot to right field to score Ramirez, who had reached earlier on a single.
Temple finally got on the board with two runs in the top of the fourth, then added two more in the top of the fifth for an 8-4 difference. A big sixth inning for Temple tied the game as five runs crossed for the 9-8 lead.
The Hawks put together their offense again in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs with Hinojosa leading off with a double, then crossing the plate on a Louvier hit. Niedenthal added the insurance run with a single to plate Louvier.
Niedenthal went 4 for 4 with four runs batted in, while Collier, Ramirez and Hinojosa each had two hits in the game. Collier, hinojosa, Louvier, Niedenthal and Samarripa each had doubles and Louvier and Ramirez recorded stolen bases in the game.
Samarripa started the game in the circle, allowing seven earned runs on three hits with give strikeouts and 12 walks over five innings.
Niedenthal, who earned the win, finished the game with one run on one hit with two strikeouts in two innings of work.
