LSCPA home opener slated for Wednesday

PORT ARTHUR, Texas – The 2026 home opener for Lamar State College Port Arthur softball is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday when the Seahawks host the Kilgore College Rangers in a Region XIV doubleheader at Martin Field.  It will be the first Region XIV competition for both squads.
 
Sophomore outfielder Quinn Zaragoza leads the LSCPA (1-7) offense with a .526 batting average, seven runs scored, and three stolen bases. Sophomore Marissa Montoya is batting .313 for the Seahawks.
 
Kilgore (5-17) is 1-8 in its last nine games. Following Wednesday's action, the Seahawks open an eight-game road swing with a doubleheader at Hinds Community College at 1 p.m. Friday.
 
Wednesday's doubleheader is the first of nine home twinbills for the Seahawks this season. The next home action is at 1 p.m. March 11 when LSCPA welcomes Baton Rouge Community College to Martin Field for two games.
