BOSSIER CITY, La.—The Lamar State College Port Arthur Seahawks opened the month of March with purpose and pride, taking the field in Bossier City wearing red ribbons in recognition of Autoimmune Awareness Month. The gesture held special meaning for the team, honoring a Seahawk who continues to battle Still Disease, a rare autoimmune condition represented by the color red.

Though LSCPA dropped both games of Friday's doubleheader to Bossier Parish Community College, the Seahawks played with unmistakable heart—mirroring the resilience they celebrated before first pitch.

Game 1: BPCC 4, LSCPA 1

Alyssa Lewis delivered a flawless performance at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a single, triple, and a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning.

BPCC opened the scoring with two home runs in the first inning and added another run in the second. LSCPA pitcher Aubre Fuller worked six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out two.

The Seahawks were sharp defensively, finishing the game error-free, with Adeija Montalvo leading the team with four fielding chances.

Game 2: BPCC 9, LSCPA 6

LSCPA's offense surged in the second matchup, highlighted by three solo home runs from Abigail Moreno, Alyssa Lewis, and Sierra Perez.

The Seahawks struck early in the second inning after a BPCC error and a Montalvo RBI double. Moreno's third‑inning blast extended the lead before BPCC responded with a seven‑run fourth inning.

Lewis added her second homer of the day in the fifth, and Perez capped the scoring with a seventh‑inning shot. Moreno led LSCPA with two hits, while five Seahawks recorded RBIs.

Despite the losses, the Seahawks' unity and determination on a day dedicated to awareness and support stood out as the defining story.

LSCPA returns home next week for doubleheaders on Wednesday, March 11 against Baton Rouge Community College (1 p.m. & 3 p.m.) and Sunday, March 15 against Bossier Parish Community College (1 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.).
