GALVESTON, Texas — Lamar State College Port Arthur battled through a tough road doubleheader Wednesday, falling 12–2 in Game 1 before storming back to claim a 6–5 victory in Game 2 against the Galveston College Whitecaps. The split sets the stage for LSCPA's return home this Saturday, March 21, when they host San Jacinto College in a key Region XIV doubleheader at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Whitecaps Take Opener

The Seahawks struggled to slow Galveston's offense in the opener, despite a solo home run from Adeija Montalvo in the third inning. LSCPA collected hits from Montalvo, Alyssa Lewis, and Sierra Perez, but the Whitecaps' 13-hit attack proved too much to overcome.

LSCPA Rallies for Gritty Game 2 Win

The Seahawks flipped the script in the nightcap, powered by a standout performance from Quinn Zaragoza, who went 4-for-5 with a double and a decisive sixth‑inning solo home run. LSCPA built early momentum with RBI from Sierra Perez and Abigail Moreno, followed by a two‑run blast from Alyssa Lewis in the second.

Abigail Rutherford added a solo shot in the fourth, and pitcher Kendall Hurt delivered a complete-game effort, allowing just three earned runs over seven innings.

The Seahawks showed discipline at the plate with five walks and aggressive baserunning, swiping three bags—including two from Abigail Moreno.

Home Doubleheader Saturday

With momentum from the Game 2 win, LSCPA returns to Port Arthur for a Region XIV matchup against the San Jacinto College Ravens. First pitch is set for 1 p.m., with Game 2 scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Martin Field.

The Seahawks look to build on Wednesday's strong finish as they continue their push through conference play.
